Intimate family album: Photos of Kate’s christening in 1982 revealed

As Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is christened on July 9, photos of his mother on her christening day in the early ‘80s have been shared on social media.

A royal fan shared the throwback photos on their account Tea Time With The Cambridges, which shows Kate on her christening day.

In the photos, Kate is wearing a white, flowing christening gown, and is held by her mother Carol, alongside her father Michael, along with her maternal grandmother, Valerie Goldsmith.

Kate’s christening took place on June 20, 1982 – just one day before her future husband Prince William was born on June 21.

In the caption, the owner of the Instagram account wrote: “Since we are talking about Louis’ christening, it is appropriate that we talk about his parents christening starting with Kate!

"Not much is really known about her christening other than these photos we have!

“She was christened on June 20th, 1982 which is coincidentally 1 day before her future husband would be born (mind blowing)! In these pictures she’s wearing a simple white christening gown and is being held by her mother (in Slide #1 and #2), Carol Middleton, and her maternal grandmother (Slide #3 and #4), Valerie Goldsmith.

“She is also being doted on by her father, Michael Middleton, and maternal grandfather! I love these pictures so much as we can tell where Prince George got his famous grumpy faces from (or all his looks honestly)!”

Followers of the Instagram account shared their delight at seeing the photos.

One fan wrote, “George looks so much like Kate as a baby.”

While another person said, “Yes! I always thought that Prince George bears a strong resemblance to his mother. Loved seeing these pics!”

“Omg!! It’s Prince George!! That’s amazing. I love seeing Catherine’s Christening photos,” another royal fan added.
