Huge news for Paul McCartney fans
If you’re a fan of Paul McCartney, you’re going to love this news. It appears the iconic ex-Beatle could be set to grace our shores this very year.
Sources within the entertainment industry have told the Herald Sun that McCartney is currently in talks to lock in Australian tour dates this November and December, and it’s likely one of the venues will be Melbourne’s AAMI Park, which has hosted the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift.
If the rumours are true, it will be the 74-year-old rocker’s first visit to Australia in 24 years. Macca was scheduled to play two shows at Docklands Stadium in 2002, but cancelled the performances in the wake of the Bali bombings, explaining it was “not the appropriate time for a rock show”.
The tour is reportedly in the hands of Frontier Touring and Mushroom Music Group head, Michael Gudinski, who is yet to comment.
Given that his performance in Tokyo last month included such hits as “Maybe I’m Amazed”, “Band on the Run”, “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude”, we’re sure his Aussie shows will sell out faster than you can say “Wings”!
