Larry Emdur hands off million-dollar Bondi Beach apartment

Morning Show host Larry Emdur has sold his Bondi Beach apartment at auction.

The two-bedroom Art Deco apartment with no parking at 5/16 Glen Street, Bondi Beach sold for a whopping $1.055m.

He originally bought it for $400,000 in 2001 and received $65,000 above reserve for it.

Son Jye Emdur, who is a real estate agent, had the listing alongside colleague Cae Thomas.

The pair had recently been guiding $950,000 for the apartment, after lifting it from $900,000 due to strong interest.

“Everyone’s definitely happy with the result,” Emdur junior said.

“To have 10 people register and more than half of those actively bidding is pretty positive.”

“Most of those keen were first-home buyers and there were a couple of investors in the mix as well,” Emdur said.

He said implementing the clever strategy to list early in the year paid off.

”We definitely kicked off earlier than most — it was one of the first new properties listed in Bondi,” he said.

“There was a lack of stock in the market and there were lots of people looking at the back-end of last year, a lot of pent-up demand, so we put it on at the right time.

“We had 40 groups through the first open, 150 groups through during the whole campaign with 30 contracts requested so it’s been very strong.

“We even had 20 to 25 groups through the midweek opens.”

The gorgeous apartment features high, classic ceilings, and is situated perfectly with natural light streaming in at all hours of the day.
