<p>Bec and Lleyton Hewitt have headed back to Sydney after stints in Melbourne and the Bahamas, with hopes that their new $10.3 million dream home in the semi-rural suburb of Glenhaven, will provide more stability. </p> <p>"I'm a Sydney girl, I love Sydney," said Bec, who swapped the busy inner city life for a more secluded one with her husband their three kids, Mia, 17, Cruz, 14, and Ava, 12. </p> <p>Their new home is close to Bec's family, and one of their neighbours is none other than Bec's former <em>Home And Away</em> co-star Lynne McGranger. </p> <p>Their six bedroom home comes with a host of features, including an inground swimming pool with a cabana, a tennis court, guest cottage and office.</p> <p>It also includes a space that will be used as a "boys room" for Lleyton and his son Cruz. </p> <p>The home sits on just over two hectares, and even features a secret room hidden in the loft, if they want to escape and have some peace and quiet. </p> <p>The couple's lavish purchase comes after they sold their Melbourne mansion in the ritzy suburb of Toorak for $16 million in 2021. </p> <p>They didn't require a mortgage for their new home. </p> <p>A local insider told <em>Woman's Day </em>that "the house is tucked away on a quiet, dead-end road in a sleepy suburb, which will give them a bit more privacy."</p> <p><em>Images: @threebirdsrenovations / Instagram</em> </p>

Bec Judd's son taken to hospital with mystery illness

<p>Bec Judd's seven-year-old son, Tom, has been hospitalised due to an undisclosed medical condition, as the concerned mother shared on her Instagram account.</p> <p>In the recent post, the 40-year-old WAG posted a heartwarming picture of Tom comfortably lying in a hospital bed. In the photo, Tom flashed a smile at the camera, clutching his teddy bear and savouring an ice cream treat. However, Bec did not reveal the specific reason for Tom's hospitalisation in her social media update.</p> <p>With a hopeful tone, Bec wrote, "Onwards and upwards, Tom," and expressed gratitude to Nurse Becky Bell for her care and support during this challenging time.</p> <p>Bec Judd, a mother of four, shares her children with her ex-AFL star husband, Chris Judd. Couple makes winning profit selling home to Lleyton and Bec Hewitt

<p dir="ltr">A Queensland couple has made a hefty $550,000 after selling their Burleigh Heads home to tennis superstar Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec - having lived in the home for just five weeks.</p> <p dir="ltr">Katie and Jeremy Langston bought ‘The Palms’ at auction in May 2021, paying $3.75 million for one of the state’s most photographed homes.</p> <p dir="ltr">But, the couple put the four-bedroom mansion back on the market just months later for $4.3 million after realising they wanted to move back to Koala Park.</p> <p dir="ltr">Within six days of the home hitting the market once again, marketing co-agents Conal Martin of Kingfisher Realty and Harcourts Coastal agent Ed Cherry had received eight offers.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We only lived in it for about five weeks,” Mr Langston told <em><a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/news/meet-the-couple-who-sold-their-house-to-tennis-legend-lleyton-hewitt-and-his-wife-bec/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">realestate.com.au</a></em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We moved out before we put it on the market. Even though we were living in Queensland's home of the year [for] 2021, we were homesick for Koala Park, so we found the perfect location in the same street we lived in previously and sold The Palms to the Hewitts.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Though they walked away with a handsome sum after <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/property/real-estate/bec-and-lleyton-hewitt-list-melbourne-mansion-after-big-investment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the Hewitts spent $4.305 million</a> to snap up the home, Mr Langston said it wasn’t about the money at all.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We thought ‘we can have our dream house anywhere’ and this is not where we wanted it,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We wanted to be in Koala Park and so we are building a beautiful house there now.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We engaged the builder of The Palms, JG Design and Construct, and have just finalised the plans to build our dream home in the area we love.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The Langston’s former home has been the subject of a fair amount of publicity, having the process of building documented on Instagram before it became the most viewed house in Australia after it was first listed for sale in May 2021.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-939616b2-7fff-9d3a-454e-fc4de4b4da73"></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Originally sold fully furnished, the home boasted luxe features including a sunken fireplace, glass-edged pool and outdoor kitchen in the entertaining area, as well as Italian terrazzo tiles, stone feature walls, custom brass fittings and Harbour American oak flooring.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Getty Images</em></p>

“Healing from grief is an inside job”: Why Ashley Judd found and met with her abuser

<p dir="ltr">Content warning: This article includes mentions of sexual assault, rape and child sexual abuse (CSA).</p> <p dir="ltr">Ashley Judd has opened up about the conversation she had with the man who raped her more than two decades ago.</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Double Jeopardy </em>star spoke about confronting the man who assaulted her in 1999 during an appearance on the podcast <em>Healing With David Kessler</em>, telling host David Kessler that they had a “restorative-justice conversation”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“To make a long story short, we ended up in rocking chairs sitting by a creek together,” Judd said. “And I said, ‘I’m very interested in hearing the story you’ve carried all these years’. And we had a restorative-justice conversation about that.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I wanted to share that story because there are many ways of healing from grief, and it's important to remind listeners that I didn't need anything from him and it was just gravy that he made his amends and expressed his deep remorse because healing from grief is an inside job."</p> <p dir="ltr">The 54-year-old added that she didn’t need closure from the man, whose identity is still unknown, or “his cooperation” or “for him to make amends” to continue healing, and that she was just “very interested in hearing” his side of the story.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Because I had the opportunity to do my trauma work, to do my grief work, to do my healing work, to have all these shifts in my own consciousness and to bond in these female coalition spaces with other survivors," Judd said. </p> <p dir="ltr">Recalling the incident, Judd described it as “crazy-making” and “unconscionable”.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I was very clear, my boundaries were intact. I was already an empowered, adult feminist woman," she recalled. </p> <p dir="ltr">"And that this could happen under these circumstances was unconscionable, unforeseen, and yet I have had a restorative-justice process with this person out of how replete my soul is today."</p> <p dir="ltr">Judd has publicly spoken about being a three-time rape survivor in the past and shared her story for the first time in her 2011 memoir, <em>All That Is Bitter &amp; Sweet</em>, and again in an <a href="https://www.mic.com/articles/113226/forget-your-team-your-online-violence-toward-girls-and-women-is-what-can-kiss-my-ass" target="_blank" rel="noopener">op-ed</a> she wrote for <em>Mic.com</em>’s ‘Pass the Mic’ series.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I am a survivor of sexual assault, rape and incest," she wrote at the time. </p> <p dir="ltr">"The summer of 1984 was tough for me. See inside Lleyton Hewitt’s coastal escape

<p dir="ltr">Like thousands of other Aussies, Lleyton and Bec Hewitt made the migration from the country’s southern capitals to sunny Queensland - and it wasn’t long until they snapped up a new coastal home.</p> <p dir="ltr">The former world number one made the move with his family last year, at the same time as he was due to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF).</p> <p dir="ltr">“Hewitt’s induction celebrations were deferred to 2022 due to travel restrictions,” a statement from ITHF read.</p> <p dir="ltr">Having finally <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/family-pets/lleyton-hewitt-s-huge-career-moment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received the prestigious award</a> on Saturday (Eastern Time), the tennis legend and his family will be returning to their Gold Coast home <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/property/real-estate/lleyton-and-bec-hewitt-s-secret-rental-hideaway-goes-under-the-hammer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">they secured</a> for a hefty $4.305 million in September last year.</p> <p dir="ltr">The home, which had been sold just three months prior for $3.75 million, is in the heart of cosmopolitan Burleigh Heads and boasts plenty of luxe features.</p> <p dir="ltr">Conal Martin, the listing agent for Kingfisher Realty Burleigh Heads who sold the home prior to the Hewitts purchasing it, describes it as having a Palm Springs coastal design with irrigated greenery, natural stone feature walls and an open plan that flows from inside to outside and sold it as a “place where you can escape the bustle of everyday life”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Spend your summer nights by the outdoor kitchen, BBQ and beer fridge, watching your family play in the pool through the custom infinity glass pool window or around the fire roasting marshmallows on those cosier winter nights,” the <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-qld-burleigh+heads-137338154" target="_blank" rel="noopener">listing</a> reads.</p> <p dir="ltr">Inside, the home features timber flooring, high ceilings, a wine cellar, three ensuite bedrooms, and a media room or second living space with stunning hinterland views.</p> <p dir="ltr">Though it doesn’t come with a tennis court, the home is just a short walk from the famed Burleigh Beach and the area’s buzzing restaurant and bar scene.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to the ITHF, Hewitt will be the 34th Australian to be entered into the Hall of Fame, describing it as the “ultimate honour” in tennis.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame is tennis’ ultimate honour, representing the sum of a person’s accomplishments as being among the greatest and most impactful in sport’s history,” the statement read.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Just 267 athletes and contributors from throughout tennis history have received this honour.”</p> <p dir="ltr">In a speech during the ceremony, Hewitt said it was an “incredible honour” made all the more special by having his family and friends with him on the court in Newport, Rhode Island, where he won his first ATP grass court match 24 years ago.</p> <p dir="ltr">“To think where it all began for me on junior tennis courts in the middle of nowhere in Adelaide in Australia, with no one watching, no TV cameras, and then to make the full tennis journey and actually now be coming into the Hall of Fame,” he said. </p> <p dir="ltr">“For me, this is such a special place here in Newport.”</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-87de6f95-7fff-7d3c-6a79-c0084861f20c"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Getty Images, realestate.com.au</em></p>

Dan Andrews accused of "victim-blaming" in spat with Rebecca Judd

<p>Victoria's premier Dan Andrews has been accused of "victim-blaming" by his political opponents, as he responded to an influencer's claim she feels "unsafe".</p> <p>Social media influencer Rebecca Judd, who is married to AFL star Chris Judd, took to social media last week to say she felt "unsafe" due to a rise in crime in the Brighton area, where she lives in a $7.3 million mansion. </p> <p>"So sick of the rapes, bashings and home invasions at the hands of gangs in Bayside," she wrote on Instagram last Thursday.</p> <p>"The state government don't seem to care. We feel unsafe."</p> <p>In response to her comments, Dan Andrews said that he was area of the rise in crime in the Melbourne suburb, with Victoria Police being utilised accordingly. </p> <p>In a press conference on Sunday, he said, "I'm also obliged to point out, though. I think there are more than 70 additional police in the Bayside area."</p> <p>"She might have missed this, others might have missed this, 502 additional sworn officers and 50 PSOs.</p> <p>"Victoria Police being properly resourced."</p> <p>Brighton MP James Newbury said the premier's comments were unacceptable, and said more should be done to curb the recent crimes. </p> <p>"No woman should be dismissed or victim blamed because they're scared after a string of home invasions in their community," he said.</p> <p>Andrews said the crime rate in the area did not reflect the influencer's concerns.</p> <p>"I'm sorry she feels that way; the data will tell a different story," he said.</p> <p>"But it is about personal feelings and your sense of safety, and I hope that knowing those things, or perhaps learning those things, puts her mind at ease."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images</em></p>

"I am unmoored": Ashley Judd's sweet tribute to her late mother

<p dir="ltr">Ashley Judd has honoured her late mother in a heartwarming op-ed just a week after her death. </p> <p dir="ltr">Naomi Judd, one half of the duo The Judds, died at the age of 76 on April 30 following a battle with depression and mental illness.</p> <p dir="ltr">“My mama was an extraordinary parent under duress: She showed my sister and me the power of having a voice and using it, and there has been no greater lesson,” Ashley wrote in <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/voices/2022/05/06/ashley-judd-naomi-judd-mothers-day/96635010..." target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It wasn’t supposed to be this way. Instead, I am unmoored. But my heart is not empty. It is replete with gratitude for what she left behind. They then worked with architect Christopher Doyle and builder Peter Johnston of Royale Construction to add some personal touches.</p> <p dir="ltr">The home boasts ensuites for each of the five bedrooms and a six-car garage in addition to a home gym, pool, and home theatre. <p>Beloved Aussie star Bec Hewitt is preparing to return to the dance floor in<span> </span><em>Dancing With The Stars: All Stars</em>.</p> <p>The two-week special filmed by Seven is bringing back past winners and "wildcards", and Hewitt appears to be one of them.</p> <p>Other confirmed contestants include Ada Nicodemou and convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby.</p> <p>Hewitt was reported to be "disappointed" producers cast Corby, according to<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.newidea.com.au/dancing-with-the-stars-bec-hewitt-schapelle-corby" target="_blank"><em>New Idea</em></a>.</p> <p>“Bec loves the fact that the show is family friendly and thinks casting someone as controversial as Schapelle goes against everything it stands for,” tells one insider.</p> <p>The mum-of-three attempted to keep under the radar, but fans are very excited by the news.</p> <p>Although in 2018 Hewitt announced her return to television with the new Nine Network travel series Helloworld – 13 years since she left Home and Away and her iconic role as Hayley Smith Lawson – this will mark Hewitt's first real step back into prime-time TV as she put her career on hold for her tennis player husband Lleyton Hewitt.</p>

Ashley Judd opens up about traumatic incident in Congo jungle

<p>Ashley Judd has gone into detail about her horrific experience after shattering her leg in the Congolese jungle, revealing it was locals who saved her.</p> <p>The beloved actress, who was in the Congo to track endangered Bonobos, explained that she sustained “massive catastrophic injuries” after tripping over a fallen tree. “What was next was an incredibly harrowing 55 hours,” she said. She then told fans how she lay on the forest floor in agony, with the belief that her “internal bleeding would have likely killed her".</p> <p>However, she says she owes all her thanks to a man named Dieumerci, who “stretched out his leg and put it under my grossly misshapen left leg to try to keep it still. It was broken in four places and had nerve damage. Dieumerci (“Thanks be to God”) remained seated, without fidgeting or flinching, for five hours on the rainforest floor.”</p> <p>The actress then described another local man named Papa Jean who spent five hours searching for her, gave her a stick to bite on, then went on to readjust the shattered pieces of her leg.</p> <p>“It took five hours, but eventually he found me, wretched and wild on the ground, and calmly assessed my broken leg. He told me what he had to do,” she wrote.</p> <p>“I bit a stick. I held onto Maud. And Papa Jean, with certainty, began to manipulate and adjust my broken bones back into something like a position I could be transported in, while I screamed and writhed. How he did that so methodically while I was like an animal is beyond me. I sat facing backwards, his back my backrest. When I would begin to slump, to pass out, he would call to me to re-set my position to lean on him. Maradona rode on the very back of the motorbike, I faced him.</p> <p>“He held my broken leg under the heel and I held the shattered top part together with my two hands. Together we did this for six hours on an irregular, rutted and pocked dirt road that has gullies for rain run off during the rainy season. Maradona was the only person to come forward to volunteer for this task.”</p> <p>Judd wrote that she made the decision to come forward about the accident as a way to spread the word about “what it means to be Congolese in extreme poverty with no access to health care, any medication for pain, any type of service, or choices.”</p> <p>“The difference between a Congolese person and me is disaster insurance that allowed me, 55 hours after my accident, to get to an operating table in South Africa,” she says, adding that villages in<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://deadline.com/tag/congo/" target="_blank">Congo</a><span> </span>lack not only electricity but “a simple pill to kill the pain when you’ve shattered a leg in four places and have nerve damage.”</p> <p>The actress now lies in her hospital bed in South Africa, saying: “I wake up weeping in gratitude, deeply moved by each person who contributed something life giving and spirit salving during my gruelling 55 hour odyssey.”</p>

Bec and Lleyton Hewitt scoping out homes in Manly

<p>Bec Hewitt has been spotted scoping out a stunning home in Manly that was recently sold with a $15 million price tag attached.</p> <p>While the Bower St home has now sold, Bec and her tennis star husband Lleyton Hewitt have been seen out and about in the area shopping.</p> <p>There is speculation the pair are looking to return to the Sydney area with their three children.</p> <p>Bec grew up on the northern beaches and gained notoriety for appearing on Home and Away from the young age of 15.</p> <p>Her character, Hayley Lawson, was a favourite on the show and wasn’t killed off when she left so bringing her back on the program would not be difficult.</p> <p>Lleyton even played a cameo role in the series at one stage and now that their children have grown up, it is reported Bec may be returning to her <em>Home and Away</em> role.</p> <p>She left the program in 2005 - the same year she married the former world number one tennis player.</p> <p>The pair share three children, Mia, 14, Cruz, 11, nine-year-old Ava.</p>
