Ash Barty's first photoshoot with baby boy

Ash Barty and her adorable seven-month-old son are the faces for one of Australia’s most iconic competitions this year, the BONDS Baby Search.

“We’re so excited to be a part of the 2024 BONDS Baby Search," the tennis champion said.

"The past six months has been filled with so many firsts – including baby Hayden’s first photo-shoot – so it feels like the stars lined up for us to be the faces of this year’s comp.”

The seven-month-old is the spitting image of his mum, as he smiled for the cameras.

This comes just days after Barty opened up on her experience of motherhood in an interview with Body+Soul.

“I was very lucky to be able to watch my sisters raise their two kids, so I think I was always sensitive to how hard but also how rewarding it is,” she said.

“But it’s a completely different ball game when it’s your own child. It’s relentless – it’s 24/7 – but it’s so rewarding and, honestly, it’s the best thing that I’ve ever done. I think it’s incomparable to being an athlete.”

Established in 2005, BONDS Baby Search is an annual celebration of Aussie families and their babies - offering families the chance to win $30k as well as daily cash prizes of $200.

There are three age-based categories: Newborn 0-6 months, Baby 6 months-2 years, and Toddler 2-3 years, with winners set to receive $10,000 each.

Entries open on February 6 and will close on Wednesday, February 21 with winners to be announced on the 29th of February.

“What better way to celebrate another year of Baby Search than teaming up with a cultural and sporting icon. The excitement is definitely real over here at BONDS,” BONDS marketing manager, Christie Madsen, said.

Images: Nic Morley/ news.com.au

"Style doesn’t age": Julie Bishop stuns for International Women’s Day

Former politician Julie Bishop has made a name for herself in the fashion world with a series of stunning new photographs in Stellar Magazine.

The snaps, taken in celebration of International Women’s Day, see the 66-year-old Bishop styled in a collection of sleek dresses, and in one shot, just a smart blue blazer and some heels.

Bishop has been turning heads and making a name for herself with her looks for a while, and has even earned a spot as an ambassador for David Jones. And now, the former foreign affairs minister has opened up about her inspiration for the shoot, and what it means to feature as their cover star for the magazine’s International Women’s Day Issue.

“International Women’s Day is about empowering women, and women feeling self-confident - drawing on their strengths and talents,” Bishop told Stellar when asked about the pose that saw her prop a stiletto against a wall, “when we were doing that pose, I just felt that I needed to look in control, empowered. That was the message I hope it sends.”

“I see myself as a woman who pursues her own career, her own path in life,” she added. “I set my own standards, I meet my own benchmarks and I don’t let others define who I am or what I do.”

When asked how it feels to be a 66-year-old woman “representing a demographic of women who are typically underserved when it comes to fashion”, Bishop took the opportunity to stress her belief that people “can be fashionable at any age.”

“The designs and the models and the stylists focus on one demographic,” she explained, “I’m from one that is generally under-represented. I think David Jones appreciates that, as well.

“[I’m] a career woman who has had a number of careers, and yet still wants to be fit and healthy and dress well. Style doesn’t age. Women were considered to have a shelf life, and women in [the] media know this better than most. I think we’ve smashed that paradigm.

“Now you can be an achiever in whatever you set out to do. You can be fashionable at any age.”

The conversation didn’t stick to the realm of fashion, however, with Bishop also speaking up on her desire to see “more women moving into federal politics” - although she was uninterested in returning herself, having already served “nearly 21 years”.

“The more diversity we have in the decision-making forums of Australia - including the national cabinet - the better the discourse, the better the discussion, the better the outcomes,” she said.

“I would like to see many more women in politics. No nation can reach its full potential unless, and until, it fully engages and embraces the skills and talents and ideas of all of its citizens, including the 50 per cent that is female - in Australia, the 51 per cent.”

“I see myself as a woman who pursues her own career, her own path in life. I set my own standards,” Bishop declared during the interview, “I meet my own benchmarks and I don’t let others define who I am or what I do.”

“I was the first female to hold a number of roles: the first female deputy leader of the Liberal Party, [the] first female foreign minister, I’m now the first female chancellor of ANU [Australian National University in Canberra],” she explained of her decades-long work.

And when asked of her own ambitions moving forward, Bishop had one piece of important advice to share, “there are plenty of things for me to do. I will continue to aspire to do things that will make me happy and satisfied, and can help other people. It’s important for women to be authentic, to be themselves and not try to be who others expect them to be – and trust their instincts.”

Images: Instagram, Stellar Magazine

"This is the devil's work!": Nun pulls apart female models sharing a kiss

A shocked nun caused quite a stir in the streets of Italy when she pulled away two female models who were kissing for a photoshoot.

The nun was dressed in a white habit and rushed to stop Serena de Ferrari and Briton Kyshan Wilson who had locked lips in a Naples backstreet as they posed for a photo for Not Yet magazine.

“What are you doing? This is the devil's work,” the nun shouted at them as they giggled.

She looked around at the cameramen and crossed herself before saying: “Jesus, Joseph and Mary”.

Make up artist Roberta Mastalia, who was on the shoot, said they had to ask the nun to leave thinking she was just joking.

“We were on location in the Spanish Quarter in Naples, in a little sidestreet with the two models when all of a sudden the nun walked past,” he said, The Daily Mail reported.

“She asked us if we had been to Mass that day and when we said 'No' she started blaming young people for Coronavirus and then she saw the two models posing up ready to kiss and that's when she ran forward to split them up.

“Our first reaction was we were all stunned. They took it as a bit of a joke and you can see from the video the two girls are laughing.

“We then had to ask the nun to leave as we explained we had work to do and she slowly walked off.”

Both Serena and Briton shared clips of the incident to their social media with the caption “God doesn’t love LGBT”.

Local priest Father Salvatore Giuliano The Church is constantly updating its views but some of the older generation have not yet accepted it.

Images: Instagram

Linda Evangelista's first photoshoot in five years

Linda Evangelista has debuted her first photo shoot since saying her face had been "permanently deformed" and her “life destroyed” after a botched surgery.

The 56-year-old supermodel has been living in seclusion for nearly five years after once being one of the most photographed women in the world.

Now, in a new interview with People where she also graces the cover, Evangelista said she is "done hiding in shame".

"I loved being up on the catwalk. Now I dread running into someone I know," the model tearfully told the publication.

"I can't live like this anymore, in hiding and shame. I just couldn't live in this pain any longer. I'm willing to finally speak."

Late last year, Evangelista said she had been left "brutally disfigured" after undergoing a CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure. She later filed a lawsuit against the company that owns the procedure for negligence and misleading advertising. It is alleged that the company failed to warn customers of the possible side effects.

Evangelista said that three months after the procedure, she noticed bulges in her chin, bra area and thighs.

"I tried to fix it myself, thinking I was doing something wrong," the supermodel said. "I got to where I wasn't eating at all. I thought I was losing my mind."

Evangelista said she went to a doctor about the issue in 2016, and recalled "dropping her robe" for him and "bawling".

"I said, 'I haven't eaten, I'm starving. What am I doing wrong?'" she recalled.

She had been diagnosed with Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), which is a side effect for less than 1% of CoolSculpting patients where the fat-freezing process causes fatty tissue to expand and thicken.

Evangelista was told that no amount of exercise or dieting would fix it. She is seeking US$50 million (approx. $69.4 million) in damages as she alleges she has been unable to work due to the rare side effect.

She claims that Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc, CoolSculpting's parent company — did offer to pay for liposuction to "make it right", but only if she signed a confidentiality agreement. Evangelista refused, and paid for two full-body liposuction surgeries herself.

Evangelista had to wear compression garments, girdles and a chin strap for eight weeks after the surgery in 2016 to prevent the PAH from returning, but she says it came back again anyway, and in July 2017, she underwent a second liposuction.

"I don't look in the mirror," she said. "It doesn't look like me."

The supermodel said that in making her lawsuit public and sharing her story, she is recovering her sense of self.

"I always knew I would age. And I know that there are things a body goes through. But I just didn't think I would look like this," she confided to People, saying she feels like the supermodel Linda Evangelista is gone.

She said she hopes she can shed the shame she feels and help others who may find themselves in the same situation as she did.

Images: Getty & People Magazine

Driver shamed after blocking traffic for photoshoot

A woman has enraged hundreds of people after parking in the middle of a busy road to take photos of her car.

Her antics were captured on video by a Canberra local and shared to Facebook on Friday where she was put on blast by a dozens of peeved locals.

The person who filmed the incident, which took place at the start of May in the inner city suburb of Red Hill, said the woman blocked the road for 15 minutes while her friends took photos of her car.

When people told her to move her car, she refused,” he wrote to a Facebook group.

More than 200 people weighed in on the incident, many labelling the woman a “nuisance”.

“She is a public nuisance and should be fined,” one person asserted.

Someone else agreed, saying “she should be fined” over her “self absorbed behaviour”.

“She’s breaking the road rules parking in an unsafe manner and should be lucky she didn’t get seen by the police,” another said.

“Just shows lack of consideration for other people. An indication their basic respect for others is non existent,” someone else added.

While most drivers were furious, some rugged it wouldn't have been difficult for drivers to simply go around her.

“What’s the big deal? You could drive a Mack truck through the gap beside her. Let her take her photos, it’s not doing any harm,” one person wrote.

“Why can’t people just be nice? Let her take the photos and move on,” another said.

Many were left scratching their heads at how there were people defending her behaviour, with some arguing it was never acceptable to park in the middle of the road.

“This is never OK, nor is it ever not absolutely baffling,” one wrote.

“She should’ve pulled to the side instead of being inconsiderate of other drivers,” another said.

Nelson Mandela’s final photos

Nelson Mandela, the legendary leader who helped to end apartheid in South Africa and later became the country’s first black president, had largely withdrawn from public life by 2011. But he agreed to one last photoshoot: A portrait-sitting for photographer Adrian Steirn’s “21 Icons” project, a multimedia series highlighting those who played a role in shaping modern South Africa.

Steirn, one of South Africa’s leading photographers, captured Mandela at his boyhood home in the village of Qunu, located in the nation’s Eastern Cape Province. The photoshoot would become one of Mandela’s last.

Mandela’s portrait in the 21 Icons project took careful consideration. “We had to come up with a concept that was both viable and meaningful,” Steirn told Reader’s Digest.

The final result was a photograph titled “A Reflection of Dignity,” which captured Mandela’s “majestic aura and humble spirit simultaneously,” HuffPost.com wrote. “The concept of the mirror allowed him to step out of the portrait and ‘reflect’ on South Africa today and the part he played in that process,” according to Steirn.

A South African himself, Steirn says that his deep admiration for Mandela inspired him to create the “21 Icons” project. Shaking the leader’s hand for the first time “was amazing,” he says.

“You hear so much about this man, living in a country that is based around his narrative.” But Mandela – or Madiba, as he was affectionately nicknamed by South Africans – quickly put Steirn and his crew at ease.

“He was the kind of guy that made you feel like the important one. That was his gift,” Steirn says.

Mandela and Steirn shared a laugh together during a brief pause in the photoshoot. “At the end of the day, one of the great lessons for me was you can’t idolise anyone,” Steirn says. “We are all human.”

In 2013, Adrian’s stunning photo of Mandela with the mirror was purchased by a private art collector for $200,000 – the highest price ever paid for a local portrait. Part of the proceeds were donated to the construction of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg, which opened its doors in 2017.

Damon Hyland, a member of Steirn’s crew for the “21 Icons” project, arranged the lighting for the photoshoot. The photos were not enhanced in any way, according to Steirn, allowing the room’s natural light to illuminate the shot.

The portrait-sitting was one of the last before Mandela’s death, and the power of the moment made the crew emotional at times.

“In those moments, it becomes very clear that no matter what colour we are or what gender we are… it doesn’t matter what we achieve in life. We’re all mortal,” Steirn says.

Steirn, Hyland, and Meme Selaelo Kgagara positioned Mandela’s mirror for the shot. Though Steirn and his crew were nervous before the photoshoot, he says that Mandela’s good-natured and kind personality soon calmed their jitters. “There was a humbleness around Mandela, there was a humour about Mandela that set him apart,” according to Steirn. “He was a very real man.”

Steirn photographed Mandela for the last time in 2013 – two days before the leader was admitted to the hospital with a lung infection.

Mandela was watching the National Geographic channel, Steirn recalls. “He gave so much to this country; he represented unity to South Africa. Knowing we would lose him was an impactful, intense moment,” Steirn says.

“In my own way, it was goodbye.”

A few months later, Mandela passed away in his home.

IMAGES: Courtesy Adrian Steirn

Written by Brooke Nelson. This article first appeared on Reader’s Digest. And with that I experienced pain. So part of being sober is, I don’t want to miss a moment of life, of that texture, even if that means being in — some pain.”

Scroll through the gallery to see Demi Moore's stunning photoshoot with Harper's Bazaar.

"What a woman!" Jane Fonda graces the cover of Vogue at 81

It’s no easy feat for just about any woman to grace the cover of one of the world’s most famous fashion magazines – but Jane Fonda has done just that at the age of 81.

The actress has become the cover star for British Vogue’s May issue, a special edition targeted at women over 50.

Fonda told the magazine she is proud of her age. “I like being over the hill because I’ve discovered there’s a whole new landscape,” she said. “I’m fond of age. I’m glad I’ve lived this long.”

Fonda’s appearance on the cover has received some rave reviews from fans.

“What a woman!” one commented on the picture on the magazine’s Instagram page.

“Jane is amazing! Such an example of an extraordinary woman!” another wrote.

One added, “It’s so nice to see a legend on the front of a beautiful magazine.”

The Grace and Frankie star admitted that being in her 80s came with a lot of health struggles, including skin cancer and osteoporosis.

“I’ve had a lot of cancer,” she said, describing her cancer diagnosis today as “an ongoing process”.

“I was a sun-worshipper. When I have a day off, I frequently go to my skin doctor and have things cut off me by a surgeon.”

She also recalled the moment when she attended the 2016 Golden Globe Awards in a high-necked, ruffly Yves Saint Laurent Couture dress.

“I get out of the car and I have the strange white dress with all the ruffles? That’s because I’d just had a mastectomy and I had to cover my bandages.”

However, she said she was grateful for the opportunity to get to this age. “I didn’t think I’d ever, ever live this long – or feel that I’m whole or getting whole,” she said. “I feel very intentional about realising that it’s up to me how this last part of my life goes.”

Scroll through the gallery above to see pictures from Fonda’s magazine photoshoot.

Heartbroken bride honours dead fiancé in beautiful photoshoot

Debbie Gerlach may have lost her fiancé to a tragic accident nine months before they were set to wed, but that didn’t stop her from dressing up as a bride and taking photos with the man she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with.

Debbie was getting ready to marry the love of her life, Randy Zimmerman, on November 11, 2018, but before that, Randy had his life taken away from him after a motorbike accident in February.

However, Debbie couldn’t let go that easily, as she wanted him by her side in what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives.

A few months prior, Debbie took part in a solo photoshoot where she donned her wedding dress and posed in the Tucson, Arizona, desert.

Then on November 11, the day that would have been their wedding, she shared the photos online, but the photos show more than one person, because standing by Debbie’s side is Randy.

The post garnered a huge response with over 308K reactions and 29K comments.

The photographer behind the emotional photoshoot is Kristie Fonseca who regularly photoshops deceased loved ones in photographs that she’s taken.

“I actually enjoy taking on challenges like this because, if portrayed with love and passion, the end result will be forever cherished,” she says.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Kristie recalls the moment Debbie approached her with her idea: “When I first spoke with Debbie, she told me her tragic story and asked if I was able to insert her fiancé into what should have been their special day. A special day that was carelessly stolen from her.

“After listening to her heartbreaking story, I just knew I had to do something very special for her.”

Kristie knew immediately that these photographs had to be perfect.

“It was supposed to be her day. It was supposed to be the day they expressed their love for each other. My thoughts were going a mile a minute coming up with ideas, poses and images that would mimic her special day with him.”

The setting was an isolated desert, and the focal point was Debbie, who stood there in a white gown. Each image pays tribute to Randy, with him standing by Debbie’s side.

Whether he sat on a motorcycle behind her, or where he’s kissing her cheek, the photographs make sure that his presence will never be forgotten.

“I started the session as I normally would for a bridal shoot, and then I posed her for some as if he was there,” Fonseca explained.

“She naturally posed for the photos as if he was standing right beside her.

“Her smile had a warmth as if he was talking to her. Even though he wasn’t there, she moved as if he was.”

The end result was loved by Debbie, but she planned to keep it from the world until what was supposed to be their wedding day.

Alongside the photos, Debbie hoped to spread awareness on road safety, as she captioned it: “Please I beg each and every one of you that reads this post, WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES, stop at stop signs and drive with care because you never know whose whole world is on that bike.

“Maybe if that person stopped, I’d be marrying Randy, my best friend, the love of my life.”

What do you think of these touching photos of Debbie and her beloved Randy? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

A star has appeared on the September cover of InStyle magazine, but fans have criticised the photoshoot for making her almost unrecognisable.

Despite working in the film and TV industry since the '70s, fans had a hard time identifying the 61-year-old actress.

Do you recognise who it is?

A post shared by Laura Brown (@laurabrown99) on Aug 9, 2018 at 7:17am PDT

The actress appearing in this shoot is none other than Working Girl star Melanie Griffith.

The photoshoot, where Griffith dons a black dress with a plunging neckline, has been slammed by fans for the heavy use of editing.

“Unrecognisable. Poor thing,” one wrote.

“Um who is this person??” asked another.

Another added: “Celebrating the same destructive message … ageing is bad. Of course she looks beautiful, but who is she? She’s certainly not Melanie anymore.”

Some were confused if the obvious changes to her appearance were the result of plastic surgery or the use of Photoshop.

“This is simply outrageous how much Photoshop was used. Is there something wrong with looking older? Who will believe that her boobs and neckline look like she’s 20? A horrible thing,” a user responded to InStyle’s post.

“There’s a lot of Photoshop happening in there! To compensate all the botox?” someone else wrote.

In an interview with InStyle, Griffith shared how the movie industry changes for actresses as they get older.

"It's a different deal when you're older," she said.

"And we're old. I don't mean it badly, and I don't mean it like, 'Oh, poor me,' or anything like that. It's just a different deal when you're an older person. It's different from being the hot stuff to being the old hot stuff."

She revealed that she is planning on pursuing theatre work to avoid the cameras.

"That's my dream. I think that theatre is kinder on a 60-year-old face," she said.

The star admitted to having plastic surgery 20 years ago, but tried to reverse the work after she received online criticism.

“No, I didn’t [realise] until people started saying, ‘Oh my God, what has she done?!’ I was so hurt,” she told Porter magazine in 2017.

“I went to a different doctor, and he started dissolving all of this s*** that this other woman doctor had put in.

“Hopefully, I look more normal now.”

Grant Denyer’s "naked" photoshoot has been leaked
