Why Peter Rowsthorn and Magda Szubanski don’t talk anymore
Kath & Kim might’ve been one of Australia’s most iconic shows, but recent comments from Peter Rowsthorn suggest it might be a while until we see a reboot.
Rowsthorn, who features in the most recent season of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, told TV Week he barely talks to co-star Magda Szubanski, admitting that maintaining friendships in the fickle world of showbusiness can be difficult.
“I sort of just watch Mags like everyone else in the media,” Rowsthorn said.
“We don't really talk - I've found showbiz is a fairly transient sort of game. Some people remain good friends, but it's tricky.”
Rowsthorn has admitted that he stays in touch with Kath & Kim co-star Glen Robbins, who the 55-year-old comedic actor describes as one of his “best mates”.
While Rowsthorn is back in the public eye with his involvement in I’m A Celebrity, he quickly quashed any notion of being part of any Kath & Kim reboot.
“It would be horrible,” Peter said. “It would never be as good as the first one.”
