Woman finds tiny paintings in attic worth a fortune

In proof that you never really know what you have lying around the house, a British woman appearing on Antiques Roadshow has discovered two 18th century Chinese paintings in her attic that are worth a whopping $34,500.

The woman told Antiques Roadshow expert David Battie that she had no idea the two paintings, which were roughly A4-sized, were worth anything at all.

"They've been in my loft for 14 years," she said. "My husband bought them in a boot sale about 15 years ago… he doesn’t even remember what he paid for them."

But, as you can see in the video above, she was in for a pleasant surprise.

Battie explains to the growing crowd, “I just think they are the most amazing things I've seen in ages. I'd get them out of the attic and spend a bit of money getting them cleaned because I think they would fetch 15,000 – 20,000 pounds.”

What a find! Are you a fan of Antiques Roadshow?
