"We can't wait to share it with you" – Barry Du Bois set to release new tell-all book with Miguel Maestre
The Living Room host Barry Du Bois has been nothing short of an inspiration in his battle with cancer, and the Network Ten star is set to detail his journey in a tell all book co-written with his colleague and friend, Miguel Maestre.
Du Bois, who made a brave return to television screens last month after learning his cancer had returned, and on Wednesday shared a photo of him and Miguel thumbing through the soon-to-be-released book, Life Force.
“Miguel and I are so excited to announce that our book LIFE FORCE will be out 1 May,” Barry wrote.
“This is a story of friendship life food and cancer and we can't wait to share it with you.”
Fans have been inspired by Du Bois’ journey and positive attitude.
“You've been a wonderful inspiration to my husband who started his cancer journey a few months ago. Thank you,” wrote one follower.
Another chimed in with: “So proud of you two.”
Du Bois also revealed to fans the book would contain 34 recipes which were created specifically for him by his colleague Miguel, “before, during and after my treatment in consultation with experts at @chris_obrien_lifehouse.”
In 2010 Du Bois was diagnosed with plasmacytoma, a cancer of the immune system, but despite undergoing successful treatment revealed the cancer had returned as multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells, last October.
Du Bois gave an update on his condition when he returned to the Living Room last month.
“I'm not going to kid anybody, whilst I was in hospital, the treatment I went through was hard work,' he announced.
“But I'm back at home. I'm with my beautiful family, the children and (wife) Leonie -and I'm back with you guys! I reckon I'm on the right track.”
