- Strawberry Fields was a real place – it was the garden of a Salvation Army orphanage near where John Lennon grew up.
- Some of the famous faces on the cover of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band include Mae West, Bob Dylan, Marilyn Monroe, Oscar Wilde, and Albert Einstein.
- Ringo Starr was actually born Richard Starkey. He replaced the band’s original drummer Pete Best.
- There are some famous crooners singing the backing vocals on ‘All You Need Is Love’ including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Keith Moon.
- Sgt. Pepper was the first major record to have the complete lyrics printed on the cover.
- Ringo Starr’s personal copy of The White Album, numbered as 0000001,sold for $790,000 at auction in 2015.
- The Beatles had four UK Christmas number one hits – ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, ‘I Feel Fine’ and ‘Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out’, and ‘Hello, Goodbye.’
- All four of the Beatles released solo albums in 1970. Ringo’s album, aptly titled ‘Ringo’ was the only one to feature all four ex-Beatles (on separate tracks).
