How to look at your entire Google search history
Listen up, Google users! You can now download your entire search history. While Google search history has been available to users for a long time, this is the first time Google has let individuals download the data to their entire search history – and there is perhaps nothing more revealing. Your personal collection of keywords can reveal the last time you were sick, when you were planning on travelling overseas and remind you of all those embarrassing questions you were once curious about but too afraid to ask anyone but a search engine.
For a trip down memory lane, here’s how to find your history:
1. Go to Google History page. You will need to log-in to your Google account.
2. Click settings (the cog in the upper right corner) and select “Download”.
3. A disclaimer box with pop-up. Read the warning and hit “Create Archive” at the bottom of the window.
4. Google will now generate your search history archive and notify you by email when it is ready. Your email will include links to your search history. The data will be stored in your Google Drive in “Takeout folders”, which can be downloaded to a desktop.
