He might be one of Australia’s most-loved performers, but fans of this Aussie TV legend wouldn’t have recognised him from a bar of soap in his appearance on Today Extra.

It’s actually Paul McDermott, the 2010 Gold Logie nominee and Good News Week host to came to prominence as part of his comedy group, The Doug Anthony All Stars, which features McDermott, Tim Ferguson and Paul ‘Flacco’ Livingston.

While he might look like he’s trying out of the lead role in a Castaway sequel, McDermott was appearing on the program to promote the trio’s reunion tour.

McDermott said, “The show we’re doing at the moment does take people though a gamut of emotions so people have been moved to tears in parts of it.”
“There’s lots of laughter all the way through but it has the whole spectrum of emotion now.”
