Didn't make the cut: Channel 10 axes 7-year-running TV show
Get out the tissues for The Living Room will not be making it to 2020 like the rest of us.
Despite being a popular show for viewers on Friday evenings, Channel 10 has decided to axe the program and have confirmed the 7:30 pm show will not be returning to our screens after 7 years on air.
While this news may come as a shock to viewers, the presenters, Amanda Keller, Barry Du Bois, Miguel Maestre and Dr Chris Brown will keep appearing in an unconfirmed show in the same time slot.
Amanda Keller took to her WSFM radio show to discuss the axing, and alluded to the fact that the decision actually came from the hosts themselves.
“The four of us will be fronting a lifestyle show, but it may not be called, actually I don’t think it will be called ‘The Living Room’,” she said.
“We’ve been pushing for this for some time”.
Chef Miguel Maestre even took to Twitter to clear up any rumours that the program’s hosts were parting ways with the network.
“The four of us are back next year watch this space same time same place, Friday at 7.30,” he wrote.
The Living Room’s last episode will air on December 20, and will delve into the world of cooking, renovations, travels and pets.
Launched back in 2012, the Channel 10 program became an instant hit and went on to win a Logie Award four years in a row for the Most Popular Lifestyle Program from 2015-2018
Last Friday night, the show brought in just 337,000 metro viewers, swiftly flowing behind Channel 7’s cricket stream.
