Lisa Wilkinson slams Meghan Markle's new project

Lisa Wilkinson slammed Meghan Markle's latest business venture on Tuesday night's episode of The Project.

Markle, 39, invested in a Californian female-founded business that makes superfood lattes.

The business, Clevr Blends, produces instant coffee sachets, including chai, match, coffee and turmeric lattes that have a focus on wellness.

Wilkinson offered her two cents on the issue.

“I admired the fact that she couldn’t care less what the trolls think. Good for her. She is supporting an all-female run business," she began.

“If I was Meghan and Harry, I’d go quiet. I’d go off and make really good documentaries for Netflix. Little side line things don’t help.”

Markle isn't the first celebrity to endorse the company after a video by Oprah making herself a drink using one of the company's sachets went viral.

Markle has also endorsed the company publicly in a statement obtained by Fox News.

“This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritises building community alongside her business,” Meghan wrote in a statement.

“I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness. I believe in her and I believe in her company.”

This isn't the only venture the former royals are embracing, with the pair creating Netflix content.

The New York Times broke the news, with an earnest quote from the couple themselves saying: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
