New TV personality announced as first cast member on I’m A Celebrity Australia
The identity of the first Aussie star who will be heading into the South African jungle for the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been revealed, much to the delight of fans.
In a James-Bond style promo that had the newest cast member playing the villain, TV chef and co-host on The Living Room Migeul Maestre will be heading into the sixth series of the show.
Miguel was holding I’m A Celebrity co-hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris hostage as he tried to figure out who else was going into the jungle.
Fans were thrilled with the news.
“Oh gosh yes, hope Miguel is in, he is hilarious!!” one fan wrote.
“I'm so happy that Miguel is going in to the jungle, if he's a taste of what's to come this year, I can hardly wait...” another said.
Miguel took to his Instagram account to ponder about the limited menu options in the jungle.
“Let’s see how I go making paella out of rice and beans,” he joked.
Miguel’s friend and co-host Dr Chris said that the fast-talking Spaniard might be challenging for editors.
“And since we subtitled Nollsy, Miguel might keep the editors busy given his words per minute,” the TV vet quipped.
Other guests set to join Miguel in the jungle are an Australian comedian, an AFL legend and a television megastar.
The celebrities will be competing to win $100,000 for their charity of choice.
The sixth series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! premieres on Sunday, January 5, 2020.
