Robert Irwin's exciting new role

Robert Irwin has reportedly landed a high-profile hosting role on Channel Ten.

After Dr Chris Brown's departure from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, rumours have swirled over who would replace the veteran host.

Many believed comedian Joel Creasey would be stepping into the hosting role, but reports have emerged from TV Blackbox that the 19-year-old wildlife warrior will be heading to the South African jungle to host alongside Julia Morris.

The rumours have yet to be confirmed by Channel Ten, who said in a statement, “Any announcements regarding our program schedule for 2024 will be made at our intimate Upfronts presentations.”

Despite being a relatively inexperienced host, Irwin has previously stepped in for hosting duties to replace Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac on occasion, and has certainly spent a lot of time in front of the camera.

Robert’s expertise with dangerous creatures is also likely to come in handy on the jungle set for I’m A Celeb.

Earlier this year, Julia Morris began teasing details about the new I'm a Celeb host, saying Dr Chris's replacement would have the show going "a completely different way".

“I’m going to have to leave everything of the past behind,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle, explaining that she was doing “chemistry” tests with six potential candidates.

“Whoever comes in is going to want to build that together. So there’s plenty of space for that person, we’re just looking forward to finding out who that’s going to be.”

Morris also outlined the pressure that was on her and the successful candidate after many successful years of the show.

“Whoever that person is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work,” she said.
