Veteran Sunrise reporter signs off for good
Veteran Sunrise entertainment reporter Nelson Aspen has announced that he will be leaving the breakfast show.
The reporter surprised viewers with the news on July 1, confirming that he has two weeks left delivering entertainment stories.
“After 19 and a half years with Sunrise, I am giving you my two-week notice,” the 58-year-old told Natalie Barr and Michael Usher.
“You’ll have me here for two more weeks.”
This means Aspen’s last day will be on July 15 confirming that he will be working on finishing his book, Your Home Is Your Castle.

“I’m going to show you how to either make your new home or bloom where you’re already planted,” he explained.
“Then I’ll be going on a book tour and a new concert Q&A show, so I’m looking forward to that.”
Barr wished Aspen the best but said it’s still too early to bid him farewell.
“Nelson, it has been a wonderful ride and we will miss you,” she said.
“But this is not goodbye, because we’ve got two weeks to say that!”
