Horrific twist in case of missing Queensland toddler Kaydence Mills

The mother and stepfather of a missing Queensland child have been remanded in custody after being charged with murder and torture.

Kaydence Dawita Mills was born in September 2014 and had not been seen by her extended family since early 2016.

Sinitta Dawita, 28, and her fiancé Tane Desatge, 40 were on Sunday arrested over the death of the toddler. The pair was charged with murder, torture and interfering with a corpse.

A crime scene was declared at the Chinchilla Weir on Sunday. Police also searched the banks of the Condamine River as part of their investigation into Kaydence’s disappearance.

Relatives said they suspect the child’s body was dumped on the riverbank, The Australian reported.

Dawita and Desatge were remanded in custody for a committal mention on June 30 in Dalby Magistrates Court.
