Why everyone is furious at The Block's villains

They’re easily the most controversial couple in this year’s iteration of The Block, and Jason and Sarah were at it again last night during the “open for inspection” episode.

The couple, who almost became the first contestants ever to be kicked off the reality TV show, were at it again last night, and managed to ruffle quite a few feathers.

The problems started when Clint and Hannah called a final Body Corporate meeting with their fellow contestants, after encountering an unforeseen problem.

The first-time renovator’s newly installed outdoor spa had broken. Extensive electrical repairs would be required, so the couple decided that they’re rather pull it out of the home than undertake a costly, last-minute repair this late in the game.

But they’d needed the go-ahead from the other contestants.

With everyone on a high after a day of positive feedback from prospective buyers, it seems strange that fellow contestants would begrudge them this request.

But that’s exactly what Jason and Sarah did.

“We might say no, actually,” Sarah announced.

“Clint and Hannah have realised (the spa) was a bad idea, and I don’t think it’s fair, because now they’ve had feedback, they’re allowed to take it out,” she said.

“We were very happy to be the only backyard without a water feature of any description. That then takes away from our backyard a little bit.”

Jason added:

“I think your property’s worth more without it. Guaranteed.”

Eventually Jason and Sarah relented, but it goes without saying the couple weren’t too happy with relenting to their fellow contestants.

“If they beat me at the auction I’ll be more than kicking myself,” Jason said.

Fans have criticised the couple on social media:

What’s your take? Do you think Jason and Sarah are right to be this competitive? Or are they simply being difficult to work with at this stage of the game?
