Pregnant Erin Molan rushed to hospital after fall
The host of Channel Nine’s Footy Show, Erin Molan, has collapsed and been rushed to hospital in an ambulance after hitting her head on the ground.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, the incident occurred on Friday while Molan, who is pregnant with her first child, was at work.
Molan’s police officer fiancé Sean Ogilvy rushed to be by her side.
Erin had just returned to Channel Nine’s Sydney offices after a trip to Canberra, where she saw her politician father Jim Molan be inducted in to the Australian Senate.
Scans confirmed the baby, who is due in July, is safe and healthy.
Molan revealed that her fall was the result of low blood pressure and that she had been given the all clear at Royal North Shore Hospital, reported TheFix.
"I'm 100 percent healthy and baby is 100 percent healthy," Molan said.
"Early morning flight and a bit of low blood pressure — it's very common in pregnancy.
"I've had two days of rest and raring to go.
She added, "Blood pressure is back to normal, blood tests all normal, and baby healthy and normal."
In three weeks, Molan will take over from the Footy Show’s long-standing host Paul Vautin, otherwise known as Fatty.
“Erin works across all our platforms in news, sport, entertainment and lifestyle,” said director of sport Tom Malone.
“She’s got this unbelievable work ethic and also does a lot of charity stuff.
“Still her health and the baby is our No. 1 priority. Whatever steps need to be taken, if it means slowing down, we’ll ensure that happens. We’ll keep an eye on it.”
Previously Molan has revealed that she has encountered various difficulties in pregnancy, explaining that she feels like a “walking corpse”.
“I am sick every single day ... no ‘better after 12 weeks’ for me unfortunately,” she wrote on Instagram last month.
“I often have to run out of the hair and make up room multiple times unwell. Twice - once at radio and once at tv - I have been likened to a ‘walking corpse’. I spend most days ill in bed until I have to get up and go to work.
“Today - I spent an hour on the bathroom floor unable to get up - and have had to call in sick to work for the first time since getting pregnant ... I can normally work through anything so I found doing that incredibly hard.”
