Who wore it better – Princess Mary wears same dress as hostess to event
Crown Princess Mary found herself in an unfortunate situation when she arrived at a major fashion awards ceremony in the same dress as the hostess.
The 45-year-old royal arrived at the Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize in the same £400 silk dress as the event’s hostess.
Mary stunned and looked effortlessly elegant as she wore the print dress to the Charlottenborg Exhibition Hall in Copenhagen.
As Princess Mary made her way inside and realised she was wearing the same frock as hostess Nina Wedell-Wedellsborg, she laughed at the situation.
The two ladies were photographed together laughing as they handled the situation with grace.
Each of the women brought their own individual style to the frock with Princess Mary accessorising with a navy belt and hostess Nina allowing her hem to fall lower at the back.
Princess Mary and Nina spent time talking with guests before appearing on stage together to present the 2017 award to designer Laerke Andersen.
Princess Mary revealed to media that the double-up was entirely coincidental and although it was not ideal, it ended up being ‘fun’ as they saw the humour in the situation.
The Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize is Denmark’s biggest award for upcoming fashion designers.
