Six more COVID-19 symptoms confirmed by CDC
The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in the US have listed an additional six new symptoms people may experience from the coronavirus.
The new report suggests health experts are beginning to understand more about the way the virus impacts patients.
The CDC urges anyone with the follow symptoms should contact medical professionals:
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
The CDC had previously listed just three known symptoms of the virus included cough, fever and shortness of breath.
Despite only a small number of symptoms being officially listed as worrying by the CDC, they also urge anyone who has other symptoms to consult a healthcare professional if they are concerned.
The loss of taste or smell has been noticed to appear in patients since at least mid-March.
A British group of ear, nose and throat doctors published a statement amid growing concern that it could be an early sign someone is infected by the virus.
