AGT judge Manu Feildel reveals the diet secret behind his incredible 12kg weight loss
Australia's Got Talent judge Manu Feildel has revealed the diet and exercise regimen that has helped him successfully lose 12 kilograms in four months.
The Channel Seven star started his weight loss journey at the beginning of this year with his wife Clarissa Weerasena.
“Last year I was getting really overweight, then one day I turned to my wife and said, ‘I have to lose this’,” Feildel told New Idea.
The 45-year-old celebrity chef said he and his wife committed to visiting the gym five days a week as well as cutting out carbs, sugar and booze from their diet.
The My Kitchen Rules judge lost 12 kilograms after four months, and has successfully continued to maintain the same weight since.
“You don’t think it’s a lot of weight, but then you put your clothes on and you go, ‘Oh, I’ve lost two sizes of clothes,’ and that’s pretty cool,” he said.
While the couple has revamped their lifestyle and eating habits, Feildel said they still allow themselves to the occasional treat.
“After the initial four months, we now have weekends off,” he said. “We go back on the naughty food and have a couple of glasses of wine.”
Apart from the new clothing size, the father-of-two said he also experienced change within.
“I have more energy and I am so much happier,” he said.
“It’s good especially for my son Jonti, because he plays a lot of sport and I’ve got to be part of it, so it’s nice to be able to run on the field without feeling like a hippopotamus.”
In March, Feildel told Sunrise that the food restriction was the most difficult aspect of his weight loss regimen.
“The diet is the hardest part – there’s no booze, no carbs and I’m training five-to-six times a week,” he revealed.
