Short film about dementia will break your heart
Dotty, a short film from a pair of Kiwi filmmakers, has been sweeping the awards circuit.
And it’s easy to see why. Mick Andrews and Brett O’Gorman have created a touching, 10-minute film about an old lady struggling to send a text message to her daughter.
The film happens to have great comedic timing, but also takes a very poignant turn when it allows viewers to emphasise and understand the importance of kindness and understanding in a world that often seems as though it is moving too quickly for its own good.
Make sure you stick with the film as it culminates in a touching, if sad ending that really brings the message home. A good option for anyone who’s struggled with dementia in the past.
