Two-year-old dies, baby brother in ICU following allegedly botched circumcision

A two-year-old boy has died after an allegedly botched circumcision at a medical centre in Western Australia. In addition, his younger brother required lifesaving surgery after undergoing the same procedure.

The brothers were rushed to hospital in Perth on Tuesday night, where the two-year-old was tragically declared dead on arrival at the emergency ward.

His brother was later rushed to Perth Children’s hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and spent the night in the ICU.

According to the Daily Mail, he is believed to be in a stable condition and recovering.

Homicide detectives were called in to investigate the incident, but officials at the Western Australian Police Force have since confirmed that the boy’s death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

Police said, “It can be confirmed the boy underwent a medical procedure at a registered medical centre prior to his death.”

The investigation has been handed to the coroner and police will prepare a report.
