WWII veteran finds best friend in tiny Chihuahua
A 90-year-old WWII veteran has found the perfect companion in an animal shelter in Dallas.
The veteran, who has been identified as Allan, came into the shelter as part of a Meals on Wheels partnership linking seniors to abandoned pets. When he saw Coco the Chihuahua he was smitten.

Nicole Hernandez, the manager of the animal shelter, says it was love at first sight, “It was an instant connection. She wouldn’t take her eyes off of him, and he wouldn’t stop smiling at her.”
Coco had been brought into the animal shelter in October by her former owners, who apparently had no time for the three-year-old dog. Life in the shelter had reportedly been tough for Coco and she’d been scared and shaky ever since her owners dropped her off there.
But those days look to be over and Allan and Coco seem like the perfect match.
The shelter noted in a Facebook post, that Allen, “didn't even want to let her go long enough to do the paperwork.”
