"Your Danny": John Travolta's touching tribute to Olivia

John Travolta has honoured his long-time friend and co-star Olivia Newton-John who died on August 9th at age 73. 

The pair appeared in the classic 1978 film Grease together as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson, and remained friends long after the movie's success. 

In an emotional post to Instagram, Travolta paid tribute to his late friend while sharing a photo of a young Olivia. 

He wrote, "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much."

"We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever!"

The most has racked up over one million likes in just a few hours, with many people sharing their love for Grease in the comments. 

The 1978 musical, directed by Randal Kleiser, became a cultural phenomenon with $366 million at the worldwide box office.

The single Hopelessly Devoted to You, performed by Newton-John, was nominated at the Oscars for original song.

The film’s soundtrack was the second biggest album of the year in the U.S., only trailing behind the Travolta-starring Saturday Night Fever.

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John often reunited for the film's various anniversaries, with the the on-screen couple even recreating their iconic dance on the red carpet for the 40th anniversary screening of the movie in 2018.
