88-year-old Alzheimer’s sufferer’s lovely duet with son
When someone you love is struggling with Alzheimer’s it can be difficult to find the strength to keep going. Often, it’s the little moments of love that give you strength to push on.
In this video, released on Mother’s Day, an 88-year-old Alzheimer’s sufferer performs a touching duet of the Vern Godsin song “Praying” with her son while playing guitar.

Kelly Ridings, a US resident from Dalton, Georgia, who filmed the video wrote, “Mom is 88 now. She's in assisted living and has Alzheimer's but she can still play and sing better than anyone in my eyes. I realized while I was singing with her tonight, I had never videoed us singing together, so I captured a couple of songs for posterity.
“Most days I miss her, but she always comes back to me when we sing.”
What a lovely moment captured on film. If you have a similar story you would like to share with us, please do so in the comments section below. We’d love to hear from you.
