We’re used to seeing celebs dressed in expensive clothing that’s out of reach to the rest of us, but one Aussie TV host has just proven you don’t need to spend big to get the designer look.
Yesterday, The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies appeared on the popular program wearing a $39 dress picked up at the post-Christmas sales at Harris Scarfe Top Ryde.
“I found this fossicking through the sale racks over the January school holidays,” the 50-year-old told the Daily Telegraph. “It is really the only time I have to shop for myself.
“Sixties-inspired, ’60s price. I love to share looks that everyone can access. I regularly wear pieces from Country Road, Cue, Zara, Witchery and Target.”
The mum-of-two recently told the Daily Mail her family didn’t have a lot of money when she was growing up, which is likely why she still favours budget fashion.
“I had a very basic upbringing. I am a meat and three veg girl. We used to sit around the dinner table every single night. Takeout was a treat. We didn’t have money to have chocolate biscuits every single night.”
