One step closer to being Queen! Princess Mary receives new honour
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has received a very special new honour from her mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe.
The Australian-born royal has been appointed to Denmark’s Council of State and will have the power to act as regent in the Queen’s place if necessary.
This makes the royal one more step closer to being Queen and what a privilege that is!
It is one of the highest honour to receive and in an official statement on the Danish Royal social media accounts, the Princess will "from now on, be able to attend to The Queen's duties as head of state when The Queen is prevented from doing so, for example during a stay abroad."
"Under The State Council, the Crown Princess, in the presence of the Queen, His Royal Majesty, the Crown Prince and the Government, signed the necessary declaration to comply with the constitution."
Alongside Princess Mary, her husband Prince Frederick and relatives, Prince Joachim and Princess Benedikte can also take on the responsibilities if need be.
"Today, The Queen's duties can be handled by The Crown Prince as regent or by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Benedikte as regents," the Danish Royal House said.
One thing we know for sure is, the royal will do whatever is asked of her in the most fashionable way possible.
On Wednesday, Princess Mary stepped out in style, wearing a gorgeous pink coat and matching pillbox hat.
