Princess Mary shows off chic style during royal tour

Danish Crown Princess Mary has received a warm welcome to Finland by flag-waving school children after touching down in the country.

The elegant 46-year-old royal kickstarted her two-day official visit by wearing a chic pastel pink trouser suit.

The royal tour, which aims to strengthen trade links between the Nordic countries, began with a welcoming ceremony by the Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori and Deputy Mayor Anni Sinnemaki at the city hall in the Finnish capital.

The Aussie-born royal crouched down to chat to schoolchildren in her tailored trouser suit and her stiletto heels.

Mary paired her ensemble with a nude-coloured handbag and wore her brunette locks in blow-dried curls.

Her Royal Highness went on to sign the guestbook and managed to sample a local tipple during the New Nordic Food event at The Danish Residence.

Mary, whose husband Frederik is the Crown Prince of Denmark, is visiting Finland as part of the of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Mary’s busy tour itinerary will focus on strengthening trade relations between the two countries, with a particular interest in the maritime industry, urban solutions and Nordic cuisine.

Mary is travelling solo on the trip and will also head to the Finnish west coast, which is a stronghold for the maritime industry.
