Queen forced to cancel iconic royal event in heartbreaking statement

As England plunges itself into lockdown for the third time due to the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kensington Palace has released a statement to sadly announce the cancellation of this year’s Garden Parties.

It is one of the royal family’s most iconic traditions, but due to the ongoing pandemic that has forced Prime Minister Boris Johnson to go into a third hard lockdown, due to government negligence and an  overcrowding of hospitals.

The Palace made a statement to confirm the disappointing feat.

"The decision has been taken that garden parties will not take place in 2021," a Palace spokesperson said.

The special event typically takes place at Buckingham Palace or at the Queen's Scottish Palace in Edinburgh.

The event is attended by a plethora of royal family members, from Harry, Wills or even Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

The Queen is also in attendance along with 30,000 guests who love to spectate and have a chance to meet with Her Majesty.

Other royal events such as Trooping The Colour and VE Day commemorations were also cancelled in 2020.
