The special plan revealed for Duchess Meghan’s wedding dress

Good news for royal fanatics, Duchess Meghan’s dress may soon be available for the public to have a look at after sources revealed that the silk Givenchy gown will be displayed in an exhibition at Windsor Castle. The Royal Collection Trust confirmed to the Daily Express that official announcements would come closer to the date.

But it’s no surprise that the Duchess of Sussex’s dress may become the focal point of an exhibition as in 2011, the Duchess of Cambridge’s custom Alexander McQueen dress was on display only a few short months after her marriage to Prince William. Alongside that, her shoes, earrings, tiara and replicas of her bouquet and wedding cake were also on display.

Meghan’s beautifully simple dress embodied the Duchess’s personality perfectly as it was a modern take on a traditional silhouette. Paired with an extravagant 5-metre tulle veil with organza embroidery, Givenchy artistic director Clare Waight Keller and the Duchess were able to keep the creation a secret until the big reveal on May 19.

“I aimed for a very modern and fresh design, just like I find Meghan to be, so I really wanted to represent her,” Keller told WWD after the wedding. “I wanted her to feel absolutely incredible in the dress and, also, I wanted her to feel like it was absolutely right for the occasion.”

The Duchess and Kensington Palace chose Keller for her “timeless and elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring and relaxed demeanour.”

According to People, over 350,000 fans came to see Duchess Kate’s wedding dress in just the first six weeks it was on display. So, it is apparent, that Meghan’s gown will attract just as much attention to Windsor Castle.
