All grown up! Lleyton Hewitt’s son Cruz follows closely in his footsteps
It is hard to forget the young bub who stole Australia’s heart all those years ago, when he got on the court with his dad Lleyton Hewitt or watched on the sidelines with his mother Bec Hewitt.
It turns out the young, adorable kid has grown up into a handsome young pre-teen and has developed a keen interest in tennis just like his dad.
The offspring of Australia’s Davis Cup captain is looking more and more like his father every day and this week Cruz was photographed taking part in the December Showdown national championships at the Australian Open venue.
Lleyton was a mainstay at Melbourne Park for a number of years and this time the 11-year-old competed in the under-12 division, won his opening round singles match after coming back from a slight set down to win in three.
Not far off on the sidelines was Cruz’s famous father cheering on in a lowkey all-black ensemble.
Just like his dad, the young teen had the sweatband on his wrist, the cap turned backwards and the signature fist-pump technique down to an art.
