Couple's heart-stopping moment as snake hitches ride on windscreen
A North Queensland couple has filmed the heart-stopping moment a large snake hitched a ride as they sped through a busy highway.
Melissa Hudson and her partner Rodney Griggs were driving along the Bruce Highway when a 3m carpet snake slithered up the bonnet of the car and onto the windscreen.
The video posted to social media shows the pair laughing hysterically as they desperately try to remove the slithering reptile.
“What are we going to do Mel?,” Griggs is heard asking while driving.
“Just keep driving, you concentrate on the road,” Hudson responded while laughing.
“He can’t get in the f****** car can he?,” Griggs asks.
“How are we going to get out?”
They even turned on their wipers in an attempt to remove the serpent.
In the end, they pulled over to the side of the highway where a brave traffic controller removed the snake with his hands.
