Edwina Bartholomew shares first photos of her new baby girl

Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew and her husband Neil Varcoe have welcomed a baby girl named Molly.

It’s believed that the Channel 7 journalist gave birth on Wednesday night.

“Meet Molly Matilda Christie Varcoe. Late like her Mum and tall like her Dad,” Bartholomew wrote in an Instagram post on Friday morning.

“Molly ‘cause we like it. Matilda for Neil’s Great Grandmother. Christie was my Grandmother’s maiden name and my middle name too,” said Bartholomew, who said she and Varcoe were “exhausted and elated … we all feel very loved.”

The 36-year-old revealed she was expecting her first child during a live cross on Sunrise in June, leaving her co-host Kochie stunned.

“The girls already know but Kochie, surprise. We’re having a baby,” she said.

“Aww, that’s fantastic news,” he said, before tenderly holding Edwina’s hands. “Really exciting.”

Samantha Armytage and Natalie Barr were also present during the announcement, dubbing the newborn as a “Sunrise baby”.

The news presenter chose to keep the gender a surprise throughout her pregnancy, but told her co-hosts it was a point of contention for the couple.

“It’s an interesting debate because Neil wants to find out and I don’t,” she said.

Edwina and Neil met when they were both working at radio station 2GB and have been together ever since.

They wed in April 2018, exactly a year after Neil proposed in their Warramba property.
