Erin Molan breaks silence over father’s passing

Erin Molan has shared an emotional tribute in honour of her late father, saying she will be "forever broken" following his death.

Erin's dad, Senator Jim Molan, died earlier this month after a long battle with prostate cancer.

He was laid to rest during a moving service at the Royal Military College at Duntroon, Canberra, during which Erin described her dad as her “hero” who she idolised her whole life.

After the funeral service, Erin shared a tribute to her dad as she thanked her followers for their support during the difficult time.

“We all knew how we felt about dad but to have so many people share such beautiful words and memories has blown me away … and I know dad would have been supremely chuffed,” she said.

“I promise I will get back to every single person who has reached out… it just might take me a while.”

"We are forever broken without Dad but he taught my siblings and I that we can endure anything life throws our way… even this."

"Not sure how right now but I know we will… because as he’d tell you himself… he was seldom ever wrong."

Erin Molan and her sister Anne and Sarah addressed Senator Molan’s funeral in Canberra last week in a ceremony attended by Governor-General David Hurley, former prime ministers Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison and opposition leader Peter Dutton.

Senator Molan is survived by his wife Anne, four children and five grandchildren.
