Erin Molan returns to the Footy Show just six weeks after giving birth
Erin Molan has returned to the NRL Footy Show just six weeks after she welcomed her first child, a daughter Eliza, with fiancé Sean Ogilvy in June.
The 35-year-old sports presenter made a triumphant return to her hosting role on Thursday night, receiving a loud round of applause from the studio audience as she was introduced as the “newly minted mum.”
Sitting down with panellists Ryan Girdler, Darren Lockyer and Willie Mason, Erin issued this disclaimer.
“Now, I haven't slept for six weeks so please be kind,” she pleaded. “Apparently that's what happens when you have a child - you don't sleep ever. So, if I'm not as sharp or as polished as usual, please be kind and be gentle.”
She added: “I'm sure my friends on social media will let me know if I stuff anything up.”
Despite being sleep-deprived, Erin gushed about the joys of motherhood.
“It's wonderful – it's nothing like I thought it would be,” she said of becoming a first-time mum. “As I said, you don't sleep much, which is intense, but she is the most perfect beautiful little thing in the whole wide world.”
Erin took to Instagram on Monday to share an image of her first day back at work.
Captioning the post, Erin admitted it was difficult to tear herself away from her precious newborn.
“First day back at work,” she wrote. “I was a bit nervous and missed my girl terribly but felt great to get back into things too with wonderful supportive colleagues.”
She added: “Like every mum out there, this balancing act will be a work in progress.”
