Grant Hackett's baby joy
Grant Hackett and his wife Sharlene have welcomed a baby daughter to their growing family.
The Aussie swimming legend shared the heart-warming news with two photos of their baby girl on Instagram, revealing their daughter's sweet name.
"Our little angel," Hackett began in the post shared on Sunday.
"Olympia Grace Hackett (Oly) has come into the world on the 4th of August 2023, at 1.43pm weighing 3.555kgs.
"Mum and dad are very proud (albeit mums a bit tired) and her big bro, Edward thinks it's pretty cool too."
One of the photos shows Hackett holding Olympia in his arms while her big brother Edward, four, leaned over keenly to get a look.
Olympia is also half-sister to twins Jagger and Charlize, 15, from Hackett's first marriage to singer Candice Alley.
The announcement post was flooded with messages of well wishes, with many fans pointing out the similarities in the baby girl's name to Hackett's astonishing Olympic career.
One person wrote, "Congratulations Grant, Shar and Edward. What a fitting name!"
The family also received comments from fellow athletes Michael Phelps, who wrote a simple, "Congrats to the Hackett family!!😍"
Aussie swimmer Libby Trickett also shared a comment, writing, How amazing! Congratulations team 😍."
Grant and Sharlene have been married for almost three years, tying the knot in a secret ceremony in December 2020.
