“I knew I loved you”: Chezzi Denyer shares emotional tribute to her kids
Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi has penned a heartfelt message to her children and about being a mum, prompting praise and even tears among her followers.
Along with a sweet snap of herself and her youngest daughter Sunday, Chezzi wrote a lengthy post sharing her feelings about motherhood and loving her kids.
“I knew I loved you well before I met you,” she began.
“I pictured holding you in my arms. I imagined the sweet smell of your kisses. My heart was full as I felt you growing inside me.
“My hopes. My dreams. Picturing our lives together. Forever such bliss.
“I made a promise when I held each of my babies for the first time.
“I promised them I would be the very best Mother I could be.
“I promised them I would love them unconditionally.
“And love them forever. In this lifetime and the next.”
She continued the message with a series of promises to her three children, Sunday, Sailor and Scout, including to “fiercely protect” them, to listen, “validate their unique feelings”, and teach and guide them.
“”I promised to fiercely protect them. To always listen to them. To validate their unique feelings. To teach them and guide them. To help them discover their uniqueness,” Chezzi wrote.
“To hold them up when life was hard for them. To kiss their knee and put band-aids on their hurt knees. To hold their hands when they are scared.
“To open their eyes to the brilliance that this world has to offer. To give them hope. To allow them the chance to make mistakes. To give them the tools and skills and understanding to love and respect themselves.”
She added that she doesn’t always get it right as a mum.
“After all, us Mums are human. We also make mistakes,” she wrote.
“But what I have discovered throughout the years is that our children learn more by what they see than what they are told.
“And that means I need to actually practise these things myself.
“I need to be kind to myself. I need to be patient with myself.
“I need to look at the world with wonder and positivity ... which is certainly hard when you’re running half an hour late for school, I know.
“So, it is my children who are teaching me.
“Teaching me to be a better human. And therefore a better Mum.
“What a beautiful thing that is.”
Chezzi’s post received a slew of praise from fans, with many sharing how beautiful her words were and some even saying they were reduced to tears.
“Such beautiful words. Your girls are so blessed to have you as their Mum. I shed a little tear reading this,” one wrote.
“You are a great mum Chezzi and don’t you forget it,” said another.
“I think you are doing a great job. You girls are beautiful like their mummy,” wrote a third.
