Lisa Curry shares new update on passing of daughter Jaimi

Lisa Curry, Australian swimming legend, has shared her heartbreak and pain over the loss of her daughter, Jaimi, who passed away at 33 years of age.

Lisa shared photos of the flowers she'd been given after the tragedy.

“My house is still filled with beautiful flowers... but now dried, hanging upside down, pot pourri, in beautiful vases.... I pretty much kept them all,” the former Olympian wrote, revealing that when she tipped one bunch out of the water they were in, two petals remained in the vase “shaped in a heart”.

“So pretty. So Jaimi,” Lisa wrote.

“I’m trying to get through each day, it’s very hard,” she added.

“Thank you to everyone who chats to me and hugs me when I’m out. And also to those who have sent flowers, trees to plant, gifts, meals, messages, cards and heartfelt letters.

“Like my life, my grieving is very public, so it does make it hard at times, but also the love and empathy people are showing is incredible and I thank you all xxx.”

Jaimi passed away after a lengthy battle with an undisclosed illness, which Lisa confirmed, saying that her daughter had been diagnosed with a "chemical imbalance".

“I know people want to know why and how [Jaimi died] but it’s not important at this time, or maybe ever, I don’t know,” she said.

“What I will say though is that [a doctor] diagnosed her with a chemical imbalance 18 years ago when we started to see some tiny red flags.

“Sometimes, an individual, even adults like us, can disregard little red flags, thinking it doesn’t matter or won’t matter.

“A red flag is an opportunity to make changes early... before it’s too late.”
