Just like mum! Prince Louis' uncanny resemblance to Duchess Kate in childhood photo
In honour of Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, the palace has released a series of news photographs giving a rare glimpse at the relationship between the three different generations of royals – including the youngest, Prince Louis.
Taken in the gardens of Clarence House in September, the portrait features Charles sitting amongst his family which includes his wife Camilla, his sons Prince William and Prince Harry, their wives the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex and the future king's three grandchildren.
The royal family, which are known for their strict protocol, seemed visibly relaxed in the photos with Prince George, 5, sitting on his grandfather's knee and everyone around them beaming with joy.
But people were quick to notice the uncanny resemblance between Prince Louis and the Duchess of Cambridge, as the new photos gave a rare glimpse at the baby Prince.
The photo below shows the youngest royal at 5 months old next to a photo of his mother, who was also roughly the same age during the time of the photograph.
Only a few days before, an adorable photo of Prince Charles playing with his youngest grandchild was released by the palace, offering a rare insight into the relationship between the 70-year-old royal and his grandchildren.
In the new documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Prince William shares his sentiments on Prince Charles as a grandfather and hopes he will be able to spend more time with his grandchildren before he becomes King.
“It’s something I’m working on heavily. I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children,” said the Duke of Cambridge.
“Having more time with him at home would be lovely – and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he is there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”
