Queen Elizabeth rides horseback at 93

Queen Elizabeth II has proven that age is no barrier to having fun as she was spotted enjoying her time with a special hobby.

The 93-year-old was seen riding horseback on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Monday morning. Accompanied by Head Groom Terry Pendry, the Queen wore a long navy coat, headscarf and sunglasses for the outing.

The Queen has been known for her love of horses. She was first given her first horse, a Shetland pony, when she was four years old.

Last year, she was photographed riding multiple times, including the morning of the birth of her great-grandson Prince Louis. She also attends the Windsor Horse Show every year and owns racehorses, from which she has earned approximately £7.7 million since 1988.

The Queen’s love for the animals extended to other royal family members. The monarch’s daughter Princess Anne became the first British royal to compete in the Olympics as part of the country’s equestrian team in 1976.

Anne’s daughter Zara followed in her mother’s footsteps and won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
