"You've brightened my day!": Kochie and Nat Barr's "wild" interview
Nat Barr and Kochie have been left in stitches on Sunrise, as a hilarious talking parrot hijacked their interview.
On Thursday morning, the Sunrise hosts were virtually joined by Hamlet the Parrot, and his owner Bridget Chant live from Toowoomba, after they debuted in the 19th spot on The Oz list of Australia’s 100 most influential social media stars.
Bridget began to explain how her TikTok videos with Hamlet blew up after she started posting during lockdown, and now exceed more than 4 million followers after her videos started resonating with audiences.
However, the chat was quickly hijacked as Hamlet, who is used to his new life in the spotlight, began squawking and speaking over her.
“I feel like I should ask him a question!” Barr joked.
“I must admit when I first saw we were doing this story I thought ‘what a stupid story to do’,” Koch later said.
“But you have brightened my day - it’s infectious, really lovely.”
“He has that effect,” Chant replied, “you can’t be unhappy around him.”
Also making the list is wildlife warrior Robert Irwin, wellness influencer Kayla Itsines, comedian Celeste Barber, radio and podcast host Abbie Chatfield, Olympian Jessica Fox, former cricketer Matthew Hayden and former footy player Benji Marshall.
The list was compiled using trustworthiness, attraction, relatability, expertise, content prominence and content frequency as measures.
