Homemade macaroni and cheese

Sometimes all you need is a good helping of warm, gooey macaroni and cheese and this recipe is sure to hit the spot.

Serves: 6

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
     
  2. In a pot of salted, boiling water, cook macaroni until cooked al dente.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt quarter cup of butter.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for one minute. Add milk, cream cheese, pepper, and salt. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat.
  5. Add macaroni and tasty cheese to saucepan and mix together.
  6. Pour into a casserole dish.
  7. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs and two tablespoons of butter. Spread across the macaroni.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. During the last few minutes, set oven to broil for a crispier top.
