How you can score half price roast chickens this long weekend

Looking for a great deal this long weekend? You’re in for a treat.

Fast food chain Oporto is set to cut half price off its flame grilled chickens on Monday, June 10 – which is the Queen's Birthday public holiday in some states and territories across the nation – to celebrate Dia De Portugal.

For one day only, the restaurant’s whole chickens will be priced at $8.50 instead of the usual $17.

“We're paying homage to our authentic, Portuguese roots with 50 per cent off our whole chickens!” the restaurant announced on its Facebook event page.

The discount applies to in-store purchases, and is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Customers are limited to one whole chicken at the slashed price per person.

The chain is also offering $1 chips, with a limit of two portions per customer each day. The offer applies to all Oporto stores across Australia until the end of the month.

Dia De Portugal is Portugal’s National Day celebrated annually on June 10. Oporto was founded by Portuguese immigrant Antonio Cerqueira, who opened the first store in North Bondi, NSW, in 1986.
