Potica cake
With sugar and spice and all things nice, this traditional Slovenian sweet bread cake is sure to delight the entire family.
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons dried yeast
- ¾ cup milk, warmed
- ⅓ cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 2 ⅔ cups plain flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 170g unsalted butter, chopped, at room temperature
- 3 egg yolks
- ¼ cup dark rum
- 2 ¾ cups walnut halves
- ½ cup brown sugar, lightly packed, extra
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup milk
- 1 egg white, lightly whisked
