Fun space nebula project to do with the grandkids
Want a fun, galactic craft you can do with your grandkids? Look no further than this out-of-this-world bottled space nebula. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it looks awesome. Use it for decoration in larger bottles or hang it off a chain and wear it as a necklace!
You will need:
- Clean, transparent glass jar or bottle with sealable lid
- Cotton balls
- Water
- Glitter
- Food colouring
- Pencil or straw
How to:
- Fill your jar up two-fifths of the way with water.
- Add a few drops of food colouring and mix using your straw.
- Add enough cotton to soak up most of the coloured water while still being fully submerged.
- Add glitter. Cap and shake to mix it all together.
- Add a second layer of cotton to create an additional layer of colour.
- In a separate glass, mix water and a different colour and pour over the cotton.
- Add more glitter and use straw to spread it around.
- Repeat until your jar is filled to the top.
- Screw on your lid.
- To make necklaces, purchase tiny corked bottles and use the same method with less colours. Screw a hoop into the cork, and add a chain.
