6 organising shortcuts for the home
If you feel overwhelmed by the amount of clutter in your home, try some of our simple tips below. Allow yourself to organise one room at a time rather than tackling the whole house at once.
For the kitchen
Lazy Susans
Not just for Chinese restaurants, Lazy Susans are so handy in the fridge for condiments, or in the pantry for your spreads.
Hanging spice rack
Instead of leaving your spices free to clutter your shelves, invest in a cheap and cheerful spice rack that you can mount on the inside of a cupboard door.
For the bedroom
Hang your boots
Instead of stuffing your out of season boots in the bottom of your wardrobe, consider hanging them up with skirt hangers. They will keep their shape and give you some extra space.
Organise your necklaces
Keep your necklaces on hand by placing some small hooks on the inside of your wardrobe to hang them on. 3M adhesive hooks also work well.
For the garage
Tool organiser
Add a pegboard to your garage wall with plenty of hooks so that everything has its place.
Nuts and bolts jars
If you’re forever looking for nails, thumbtacks or screws – simply drill some jam jar lids to the underside of a shelf. You can then fill the jars with your items and screw them onto the lids for easy access.
