Mini toffee apples
Your grandkids will love to eat them as much as they’ll love to make them with you. Go on, indulge!
You will need:
- A melon baller
- 8 green apples, washed
- Cake pop sticks
- 1 cup of butter
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cup of corn syrup, light
- 400g can of condense milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- Sprinkles, nuts, chocolate (or whatever toppings you desire)
- Candy thermometer
How to:
1. Using the melon baller, core each apple.
2. Stick cake pop sticks into apples and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
3. To make toffee, a saucepan over medium high heat, mix butter, brown sugar, syrup, and milk. Bring to a boil.
4. Cook, stirring until your thermometer reads 120°C, which should take about 30 to 40 minutes.
5. Remove toffee from heat and add vanilla. Stir.
6. Dip apples into toffee, turning and coating each pop. While still warm, add sprinkles or any other desired eatable decorations. Let cool slightly before placing on baking tray.
7. Repeat until all apples are coated.
8. Store at room temperature.
