Controversy over David Beckham’s photo with daughter
The Beckham family have never shied away from showing public displays of affection for their kids.
Almost a year ago, Victoria Beckham shared a picture of herself kissing their 5-year-old daughter Harper on the lips and David has recently shared a similar photo.
The photo, uploaded to Instagram, shows David kissing Harper on the lips on their family vacation in Africa.
The caption reads, "Kiss for Daddy."
The picture has caused a stir on Instagram with one user calling the kiss “weird” and “wrong”.
Another Instagram user wrote, “Why do this? We don't need to see it.”
"On the lips? What has the world come to?" added another.
Despite the negative remarks, there have also been a stream of positive reactions to the picture.
“Just beautiful. Be proud of your bond!" one person wrote.
"How beautiful is this wonderful picture of the love between a father and his daughter!" another user said. "If only all the children in the world who don't have the love and closeness of their parents had this perfect love … don't listen to the haters."
All the Beckham kids regularly feature on their father’s Instagram page.
David has not responded to the negative backlash and has kept the picture on his Instagram page.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has been criticised for their parenting and it certainly won’t be the last.
